The family is the most important unit of society. It is where we learn and find love. God’s Church exists to help families find joy now and after this life. Worldwide, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a strong advocate for traditional families.
We emphasize education. We believe that the “glory of God is intelligence” and that learning lasts forever. Without the ability to read and reason it is difficult to learn God's word. Education brings freedom. Education is the door to opportunity!
This Church values work! We are taught to be 'self-reliant,' even as we rely on God. Our people are innovative and industrious in every honorable trade and profession. We offer proven training on how to get a job and how to start or grow a business.
The Lord taught us to sacrifice and to give to others—to serve the hungry, the thirsty, the sick, and those in prison, and to visit the widows and orphans. This happens on a large scale with disasters and crises, and on a smaller scale in neighborhoods and families.
Our Church has made remarkable efforts to preserve family history and genealogy worldwide. We have the largest collection of family records in the world, with billions of names. And we make all this research available free of charge to everyone.
